The first of our workshop series was held in Benin, Lagos, Ibadan, PortHarcourt, Warri, and Abuja.

Over 200 participants attended the event.

It has been established there is a need for Nigerian Dentists to increase their knowledge and proficiency in dental implant dentistry. ( Akeredolu et al 2007).

Dental implants are a valuable treatment to replace teeth and are considered an optimal solution to restore peoples’ mouths. The clinical success rate of dental implant treatment is high. 

The adoption of this therapy is being hampered by the fact that a large number of practicing dentists have never placed dental implants since graduating from dental school.  This is due to not having proper training in the field.

Healing Hands Dental Society’s Education Consortium is organizing a dental webinar series and hands-on activities.

Phase 1: One Day Implant Site Preparation Course

Phase 2:  Two-day workshop that will involve didactics and hands-on sessions.

✅ Oral Radiology:  2D and 3D (CBCT imaging, diagnosis and tx planning)

✅ Incision and suturing

✅ Single Tooth Implant Placement

✅ Working with different Bone Densities

✅ Implant Placement in the Esthetic Zone

✅ Introduction to Bone Grafting (bone materials, membranes)

✅ Extraction, immediate implant placement, regular implant placement, basic bone grafting, incision/flap design/suturing 

✅ Provide: Methods and processes to diagnose and educate patients on single tooth dental implant therapy

✅ Assist: In understanding the options available when restoring single tooth dental implants

✅ Articulate: Workflows for successful single tooth dental implant restorations

We will be offering training kits and supplies.
