Dental Implant Training

There is an increasing oral health awareness and a demand for dental implant options. This is being hampered by the fact that a large number of practicing dentists have never placed dental implants since graduating from dental school due to not having proper training in the field. Healing Hands Dental Society’s Education Consortium is organizing a Dental Implant Training Workshops targeting the African Dental Community – (Dental Students, Residents, Dental Practitioners, and Faculty).

We have planned a series of dental implant site preparation workshops all across Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, Egypt, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, and Tunisia

It has been established there is a need for Nigerian Dentists to increase their knowledge and proficiency in dental implant dentistry. ( Akeredolu et al 2007).

Dental implants are a valuable treatment to replace teeth and are considered an optimal solution to restore peoples’ mouths. The clinical success rate of dental implant treatment is high.

Meet Our Presenters

Aikaterini Anastasaki DDS, MS

is a highly skilled Prosthodontist with a wealth of experience in the field of dentistry. Graduating with a DDS and MS, she completed her residency in Advanced Education in Prosthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she was recognized as Chief Resident. During her residency, Aikaterini gained extensive clinical experience in various aspects of Prosthodontics, including fixed, removable, and digital dentistry, as well as implantology and orofacial pain management. She also holds a Master’s degree in Dentistry, focusing on Implant Prosthodontics.

Prior to her residency, Aikaterini earned her DDS from the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens, School of Dentistry, Greece, where she demonstrated exceptional academic achievement. Her dedication to excellence was evident from her consistent top-ranking performances, earning her an honorary prize from the Greek Ministry of Education.

Aikaterini’s clinical experience spans across multiple continents, having worked as an Associate Prosthodontist in Athens, Greece, and completed shadowing experiences in Canada. During her time shadowing in Toronto, she observed complex prosthodontic procedures, full-mouth rehabilitations, and various implant-related surgeries, gaining exposure to state-of-the-art digital technologies.

With her diverse background and dedication to advancing the field of Prosthodontics, Aikaterini Anastasaki continues to make significant contributions to dental practice and patient care.

Dr Leroy Horton

Dr. Horton hails from Glyfada Greece and immigrated to the United States as a teenager. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a degree in Biology before graduating from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2007. During his 14 years of practice he continued his advanced training in Implantology earning his fellowship, mastership, and board certification in Implantology through the International Congress of Oral Implantology.

In 2021 Dr. Horton sold his offices and returned to academia after being accepted to the prestigious Oregon Health Sciences Graduate Periodontics program in Portland Oregon. As he is finishing his specialty training and Masters degree, he continues to teach implant science as nationwide. Married with three kids, Dr. Horton enjoys his hobbies of kickboxing, grappling, running and good food.

Dr Ola Al Hatem

“Originally from Houston, Dr. Al Hatem earned her undergraduate studies with a biology major from the University of Houston with a Magna Cum Laude honors. She then pursued her career in dentistry and obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston and graduated with multiple publications, research awards and leadership positions during her time as a student.

She then decided to further her education and completed a three-year specialty program in Prosthodontics and dental implants.

During her time as a resident, Dr. Al Hatem treated a variety of cases ranging from simple single tooth replacement to full mouth rehabilitation. The training included gaining extensive experience in both the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. She also had the opportunity to complete a Master of Science in Dentistry degree and an award-winning research project pertaining to the field of Prosthodontics. Dr. Al Hatem spends a great amount of her time continuing her education by attending dental education courses and seminars involving Prosthodontics, digital design and surgical techniques.

Dr. Al Hatem is passionate about providing quality care to help patients with challenging dental needs through creating a life-changing positive impact.

Outside of work, Dr. Al Hatem spends most of her time exploring the outdoors and the beautiful nature of Dallas as well as maintaining her artistic side outside of dentistry with abstract painting.”

Dr Uvoh Onoriobe

Dr Uvoh Onoriobe completed his Bachelors of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Benin, Nigeria. He obtained a Masters in Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011. He also completed a residency in Dental Public Health in North Carolina Oral Health Section in 2012. He went to complete the Advanced Standing program for Internationally Trained Dentists and obtained a DMD degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016. Uvoh has worked in private practice for a couple of three years. He is honored to be a part of the Graduate Prosthodontics Program at the University of Michigan. He is the Executive Director, Healing Hands Health Society, a non profit in the USA and Nigeria. He is the facilitator of Dental Webinar Series

Dr. Christiana Onisiforou

Dr. Christiana Onisiforou was born in Washington D.C., but grew up in her hometown of Limassol, Cyprus. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2019 from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. In pursuit of further dental education and training, she moved to Ann Arbor in 2020 to join the Graduate Prosthodontics Master’s Program at the University of Michigan. During her three-year training, she gained experience in treating complex full-mouth rehabilitation cases, focusing on all phases of oral rehabilitative treatment, including implant placement. She was awarded the 2021-22 Edward J. Billy Graduate Scholarship Award for excellence in Prosthodontics. Upon completing her specialty training, she returned to Cyprus where she is currently working as a Prosthodontist in a private dental specialty clinic. She is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), European Prosthodontic Association (EPA) and Cyprus Dental Association.

Dr Julia Jackson

Dr. Julia L. Jackson was born and raised in the city of Philadelphia. After attaining her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in psychology from Wesleyan University in Middletown , CT. She found that she loves to work with her hands and pursued a field which harmonized a relationship between art, science and people. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Temple University school of Dentistry in Philadelphia. Then she went on to complete a two year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York. Followed by a four year Oral and Maxillofacial Residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington,DC. Dr. Jackson is an active participant in organized dentistry, holding several memberships in dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Virginia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Jackson lectures regularly on implant dentistry locally, in two different Study clubs that she started, 1st Ladies of Dentistry and The Essentials lecture series. She is also part of launching a support program for referring doctors around the state called Tooth Titans DSO. Dr. Jackson is involved with many community organizations, including National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Mission of Mercy Donated Dental Services and the nation wide Give Kids a Smile program. Dr. Jackson has a full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practice that utilizes the best available technology to help make the best decisions possible for her patients. She enjoys surgical exodontia, wisdom teeth extractions, tori reduction, alveoplasty, hard and soft tissue biopsies, bone grafting, and full mouth reconstruction with dental implants.

Dr. Marita R. Inglehart

Dr. Marita R. Inglehart is a professor of dentistry in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine, an adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology and an Inaugural University Diversity & Social Transformation Professor at the University of Michigan. She received her education at the University of Mannheim in Germany where she also was a faculty member.

Dr. Inglehart addresses the role of diversity and social justice in dental education and in oral health care settings. Her research has focused on how to educate future and current dental care providers to become culturally literate, and on documenting how poor oral health of patients from underserved backgrounds affects their quality of life.

She has published over 170 peer-reviewed publications, four books and numerous book chapters.

Dr Carlo Ercoli

Dr. Ercoli is chairman of the Prosthodontics Postgraduate Training Program at EIOH. A native of Italy where he earned his dental degree, Dr. Ercoli continued his advanced training in ways to restore the comfort, appearance and function of the mouth when patients have missing or damaged teeth (prosthodontics). He is also trained in treatment of the jaw and facial muscles (the areas affected by TMD and TMJ), and of the gums and tissues that support the teeth. Dr. Ercoli is internationally published in prosthodontics and implant dentistry and has lectured locally, nationally and internationally. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and past president of the American Prosthodontic Society. He enjoys treating patients, and his double specialization allows him to be your expert for simple and complex needs.

Dr. Hsiao Sung

Dr. Hsiao Sung is Clinical Assistant Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She completed her dental training, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency and Master’s degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Chile, Santiago. She is a Diplomate of the Latin American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Her clinical practice focuses on bone and soft tissue regeneration for dental implants in medically compromised patients, dentoalveolar surgeries and oral pathology. Her translational research complements her clinical focus in craniofacial bone biology and regeneration therapy with bone anabolic medication. She is currently studying the craniofacial bone response to Sclerostin antibody in an Osteogenesis Imperfecta mouse model.

Steve Barrett

A career sales professional having spent the last 20 years in the dental space.

He has worked for the Straumann group for the last 13 1/2 years.

He covered private practice dental accounts for 10 of those years.

For the last 3 1/2 years he has covered institutional accounts in the Midwestern US marketplace.

Dr. Sameh El-Ebrashi

Sameh El-Ebrashi BDS, MS, FACP obtained his dental degree from the University of Newcastle, U.K. in 1993. After working in private practice, he completed his Prosthodontic residency at the University of Michigan and received a Master of Science in 1998. Dr. El-Ebrashi is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and the American Board of Oral Implantology. He served as Assistant Professor and Director of Pre-Clinical Removable Prosthodontics at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) from 2002-2006. Dr. El-Ebrashi has lectured nationally and internationally, is active in local CE, and is a guest lecturer for the OHSU post-graduate periodontology residents. He actively continues to collaborate in research involving implants and immediate loading protocols. Dr. El-Ebrashi is a member of several professional organizations. He is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics, a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, as well as the International Team of Implantology. Dr. El-Ebrashi currently practices in the Portland, Oregon area.

Dr Lyndon Cooper

Lyndon Cooper is an expert in orofacial and dental rehabilitation, and oral biology. His research is patient orientated and focuses on advancing the areas of bone biology, adult stem cell bone regeneration and the clinical evaluation of dental implant therapies to improve patient care.Cooper earned a dental degree from New York University and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Rochester. He earned a certificate in prosthodontics from Eastman Dental Center and completed a fellowship at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. Prior to joining UIC, Cooper served on the faculty of the University of North Carolina.

Jessica M. Latimer

Dr. Jessica Latimer is currently a Periodontology resident and Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMSc) candidate in Oral Biology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Latimer is a graduate of the University of Washington (UW) where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology (2014) and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (2020). She is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and has received competitive national awards from the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, American Dental Association Foundation, and American Dental Education Association. In 2020, Dr. Latimer was awarded the Harvard Division of Periodontology Fellowship, as well as the AAP Clinical Impact and Clinical Science awards in the Research Forum Poster Session. She has performed research in numerous areas, such as pediatric oral-systemic health, clinical implant performance and bone pathophysiology in diabetes, risk indicators for peri-implant disease, and dental education. Dr. Latimer is pursuing an academic career in periodontology involving teaching, clinical practice, and translational research. She is also an avid medical illustrator; she enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion for periodontology through original, digital drawings on social media as @theperioartist. Both her research and artwork have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Liana Webber

Dr. Webber was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil where she pursued her D.D.S. degree at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in 2013. During dental school, she won a Brazilian research scholarship (CNPq) and worked on a research project about the nuclear changes in the oral mucosa of alcoholics and crack cocaine users. After graduation, she joined a Master in Science program in Dentistry at the same University, and she studied the epigenetic changes in oral cancer. Next, she pursued a Ph.D. in Dentistry and won a Brazilian scholarship (CNPq) when she came to the University of Michigan and worked as a visiting scholar in the Laboratory of Epithelial Biology. After she finished her Ph.D., she got a position as a Post-doctoral Researcher in the same laboratory for two years. During this time, she had been involved in numerous research projects, focusing on epithelial regeneration, cancer biology and therapy, and the development and progression of chronic inflammatory diseases including periodontal disease which have been published in high-profile journals. Currently, she is a Graduate Periodontics Resident at the University of Michigan

Dr. Rafael Siqueira

Dr. Rafael Siqueira is a Graduate Periodontics Resident at the School of Dentistry, University of Michigan, USA. He earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Pernambuco (Camarige, PE, Brazil) and received a certificate of specialist in Periodontics by the Brazilian Military Academy of Dentistry. Later, he obtained a Master’s degree in Oral Sciences (Implantology) from the Ilapeo College (Curitiba, PR, Brazil) and PhD in Oral Sciences from the Federal University of Pernambuco (Recife, PE, Brazil). As part his PhD program he worked as a research fellow in 2017 at the School of the Dentistry, University of Michigan. Before joining the University of Michigan, he has worked in private practice focusing on implant related procedures and held a teaching position in Periodontics at the Facipe College, Brazil and in Implant Dentistry at a Specialization course at the Tavares Vieira Institute, Brazil.

Dr. Beatrice Leung

Dr. Beatrice Leung received Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto. After graduation, I completed a General Practice Residency at the Boston Medical Center and a three-year Prosthodontics Residency Program at the University of Pittsburgh. During my residency program in Pittsburgh, I also earned a Master of Public Health degree. Following completion of these programs, I became certified as a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada as well as the diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Since then, I have been in private practice in the midtown Toronto for last 15 years. I have a long history of involvement in the prosthodontic education at the University of Toronto and recently joined the Faculty as an Assistant Professor with a major role in directing undergraduate prosthodontic education. I have recently been named an Honorary Class Member from the class of 2021 and 2022 and a recipient of the 2019-2020 Dr. Bruce Hord Master Teacher Award.

Matthew Galli

Matthew Galli is a 3rd-year graduate student in the Periodontics and Oral Medicine Department at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He completed his DDS at the University of Toronto in 2019 where he started his own charity initiative aimed at providing gifts for underprivileged teenagers during the holiday season. He was also president of Xi Psi Phi Omicron Chapter dental fraternity in his senior year. During his BSc and DDS, he conducted research focused on macrophage polarization and osteoclastogenesis in the context of periodontitis and has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals on these topics in addition to periodontal clinical research conducted during his residency.

Dr Riccardo Di Gianfilippo

Riccardo Di Gianfilippo currently works at the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine of the University of Michigan. He graduated from the University of Rome in 2016, joined the Italian Society of Periodontology for the year 2017, and, since 2018, is enrolled in a research/clinical specialty in Periodontics at the University of Michigan. His research activity focuses on peri-implant bone regeneration and mucogingival plastic surgery. Riccardo Di Gianfilippo was the recipients of several awards, actively published in international peer-reviewed journals and is currently serving as a reviewer for well-known journals.

Dr Damian Lee

Dr. Lee is originally from Ann Arbor, MI where he graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Movement Science. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan. Upon the completion of dental school, he was trained at the University of Illinois-Chicago Advanced Prosthodontics Program, receiving a certificate and Master’s degree in oral science. Dr. Lee has been in academia since 2007 and he is currently the Director of the Advanced Education in Prosthodontics Program at the The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.  He also maintains a prosthodontic practice at OSU Dental Faculty Practice.

Dr. Riad Almasri

Dr. Almasri is a specialized Prosthodontist who practiced general dentistry for several years prior to entering Nova SE University College of Dental Medicine, where he received his specialty certificate in Prosthodontics; serving as a Chief Resident. He is currently an Adjunct Faculty member of the College of Dental Medicine’s Post-Grad Prosthodontic program. In addition to private practice, Dr. Almasri served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, TX. He has also established the FastNewSmile® for the immediate load dental implant procedure. Not only does he perform this procedure, but he also gives lectures about the procedure to dentists locally and nationwide. Dr. Almasri is involved in research and has been published in the Journal of Prosthodontics and the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants.


Dr. Almasri is a Fellow of the Academy Of Osseointegration [Research Committee and Young Clinicians Committee] and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Dallas County Dental Society. He is also a key opinion leader for the Straumann Group and a global education expert.

Dr. Priscila Meneghetti

Priscila Meneghetti graduated in Dentistry at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil, in 2005. She is a specialist in Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry of Bauru – USP (2007) and a Master’s Degree in Restorative Dentistry at PUCRS (2019). She is currently a Ph.D. student in Restorative Dentistry at PUCRS, Research Scholar, and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological and Materials Sciences & Prosthodontics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her research line is in innovation and digital technologies. She is a Member and Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and Co-Director of the ITI Study Club Porto Alegre I. She also is one of the ambassadors of WIN – Woman Implantology Network in Brazil, the Straumann Group project to engage and inspire women in Implantology.

Dr. Pierre Wohlgemuth

Dr. Pierre Wohlgemuth received his DDS degree from Lorraine University in France, 2014. After practicing in Paris and his hometown city, Metz, he decided to pursue his education by completing the Endodontics program for International Dentists at NYU College of Dentistry in 2015. He then went in Switzerland to practice Endodontics in a private setting. He decided to resumed his education and integrated the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics at NYU College of dentistry, a 2-year post-graduate program and graduated in 2018. Dr. Pierre Wohlgemuth was invited to lecture nationally and internationally, participating in meetings and symposium worldwide. Dr. Pierre Wohlgemuth is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, member of the American Association of Endodontists and the International Association of Dental Traumatology. Dr. Pierre Wohlgemuth is currently holding a position of Full-Time Assistant Professor at Colorado University School of Dental Medicine, Department of Surgical Dentistry, Division of Endodontics.

Dr. Eszter Somogyi-Ganss

Dr. Somogyi-Ganss earned her DMD degree at Semmelweis University of Medicine, Budapest, in Hungary and her PhD on the topic of calcium-binding proteins in bone and dentin from the Karolinska Institute Center for Oral Biology in Stockholm, Sweden. She then moved to Toronto and completed her Prosthodontic specialty training with an MSc at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. Her topic was accuracy of dynamic computer-guided implant surgery. This was followed by a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Oral Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Currently, she is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, full time. She is also the Clinical and Research Director for the Craniofacial Prosthetic Unit at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where she is responsible for the intraoral and extraoral maxillofacial prosthetic rehabilitation of patients. She is the Chair of the Canadian Section of the International Team of Implantology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics.

Dr. Fengyuan Zheng


Dr. Zheng is a board certified prosthodontist and serve as associate director of Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He received dentistry training at Bejing Medical University. After PhD program in Oral Biology at The Ohio State University, Dr. Zheng pursued advanced prosthodontics training at University of Southern California Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. His research interests are dental materials and implant biomechanics. He enjoys balanced teaching, research, and private practices in academia.

Dr. Sharon Aronovich

Sharon Aronovich DMD, FRCD(C) serves as a faculty member for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan Health System. He is also the Assistant Program Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program.

Dr. Aronovich obtained his dental degree from McGill University and underwent residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Hospital of Saint Raphael/Yale-New Haven Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Aronovich is a member of many national associations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association, the American Society of TMJ Surgeons, the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the C.J. Lyons Academy, and the Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Aronovich has been involved in global outreach programs serving children with conditions such as cleft lip and palate in India, China, and most recently Mexico, where he has partnered with Smiles International Foundation.

Dr. Pierluigi Balice

Dr. Pierluigi Balice is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, USA. He obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) cum laude from the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, Italy, his country of origin. Dr. Balice completed his three-year specialty training at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, USA where he received a Certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Dental Science degree. He is an active member of several dental organizations and has lectured internationally.

Dr. Chady Elhage

Dr. Ivan Chicchon

Dr. Ivan is a prosthodontist and Implant Surgeon. After graduating from dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, he completed an additional 3-year residency at the University of Michigan where he learned most of his advanced techniques for dental implants. He has a published a popular book, The All on X Handbook, which is a comprehensive, no-nonsense, overview of the All on X procedure from start to finish. In the past, he has worked as a ‘traveling implant guy’ for many offices, and currently maintains a private practice limited to implants.

Above all, Dr. Ivan’s favorite job is teaching others how to place dental implants and sharing his techniques and mistakes through his own company, Implant Ninja. Implant Ninja is the leader in online dental implant education, hosts virtual dental implant workshops around the world, and has comprehensive online courses that teach various aspects of implant dentistry. Dr. Ivan is passionate about teaching and connecting with other doctors.

In his spare time, he enjoys arts and crafts and spending time with his beautiful wife and his two adorable daughters. Dr. Won Oh

Dr. Won Oh is a Clinical Professor of Dentistry at the University of Michigan. Dr. Oh received his DDS degree from Chonbuk National University in South Korea and his certificates in Prosthodontics and MS from the University of Minnesota and in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at UCLA. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Michigan, he served as Assistant Professor of Dentistry at the University of Florida and visiting Assistant Professor of Dentistry at UCLA.

Dr. Oh’s teaching activities include instructing predoctoral students in the Comprehensive Care Clinics. He serves as a course director for Removable Prosthodontics at predoctoral and graduate levels. His research interests are in the areas of prosthodontics developing new protocols for prosthodontic procedures, dental ceramics, color, and dental implants.

Dr. Oh maintains dental practice at the School of Dentistry’s Dental Faculty Associates Clinic.

Dr. Effie Habsha

Dr. Effie Habsha received her Bachelor of Science degree and earned her DDS degree from the University of Toronto. Upon graduation, she completed a one year General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, ON. Dr. Habsha received her Diploma in Prosthodontics and Master of Science degree, both from the University of Toronto. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) and is an examiner and Section Head for the Oral Examination in Prosthodontics for the RCDC. Dr. Habsha is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Dentistry, Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and currently instructs both at the undergraduate and graduate level in Prosthodontics at U of T. Dr. Habsha is a Professor at George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology and is the On-staff Prosthodontist at MedCan clinic in Toronto. She holds an appointment as Staff Prosthodontist at Mount Sinai Hospital where she instructs the dental residents and is involved in various clinical research projects. Dr. Habsha is an Associate Fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics and Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of The Pierre Fauchard Academy and holds memberships in numerous Prosthodontic organizations and societies. She lectures both nationally and internationally on various Prosthodontic topics and maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry in Toronto.

Dr. George Mandelaris

Dr. Mandelaris attended the University of Michigan from undergraduate through dental school.  He completed a post-graduate residency program at the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry, where he obtained a certificate in the speciality of Periodontology as well as a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Oral Biology.  Dr. Mandelaris is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow in both the American and International College of Dentists.  Dr. Mandelaris has published over 40 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has authored eight chapters in seven different textbooks. He serves as an Editorial Consultant to the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. Dr Mandelaris is one of the recipients of the 2017 American Academy of Periodontology’s (AAP) Clinical Research Award and he is the 2018 recipient of The Saul Schluger Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning. Dr. Mandelaris is in private practice in Chicago, Illinois where he limits his practice to Periodontology, Dental Implant and Dentoalveolar Bone Surgery. 

Dr. Erika Benavides

Dr. Erika Benavides is a Board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist and a Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She is a Diplomate and Past-President of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR) and has served as Councilor for Communications and Chair of the Research and Technology Committee of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR). She received her DDS from the University of Valle in Cali, Colombia. She then completed an externship program in the Craniofacial Genetics Department at the Medical University of South Carolina. Subsequently, she completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) program at the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) and the Truman Medical Center. At UMKC, she also received her Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology training and a PhD in Oral Biology and Biomedical Engineering.
Dr. Benavides is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters in the multidisciplinary aspects of diagnostic imaging. Her research interests include the integration of emerging technology to evaluate tissue structure and properties. She has served as a co-investigator in NIH funded grants for the past 8 years. Her clinical practice is dedicated to head and neck 2D and 3D imaging interpretation.

Dr. Ye Shi

Dr. Ye Shi received her DDS degree in China, 2011, followed by a 3-year post-graduate training in Prosthodontics with Master degree. Afterward, she came to US and completed the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Implant Dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry from 2014 to 2017. Then she accomplished her periodontal training in post-graduate Program of Periodontics at NYU College of Dentistry in 2020. Dr.Shi is a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and member of many organizations in prosthodontics, periodontics and implantology. She was invited to lecture nationally and internationally and published several articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr.Shi is currently working as part-time faculty in the department of periodontics and implantology at NYU College of Dentistry.

Dr. Thomas Salinas

Prof. Thomas J. Salinas, DDS is Professor of Dentistry at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.
He received his prosthodontic and undergraduate training at Louisiana State University Health Science Center and maxillofacial prosthodontic training at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, a member of the American Dental Association among other organizations. He has a dual clinical appointment as a consultant in the Department of Dental Specialties devoting his practice to rehabilitation of patients requiring prosthodontic care.
He maintains several editorial review positions with the International Journal of Prosthodontics, International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. He is also on the Editorial Council of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. His research interests include biomechanical aspects of dental materials; implant prosthodontics, and clinical outcome studies.

Dr. Samantha Dahshan

Dr. Dahshan received her dental degree from WesternU College of Dental Medicine in California. She’s a current third year prosthodontics resident at University of Illinois at Chicago, and she will start her surgical training in Implantology at Harvard in 2021.

Dr. Ryan Becker

Dr. Ryan Becker received his DDS degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2015, received his certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics from LLUSD in 2018 and received his MSD in Advanced Prosthodontics from LLUSD in 2020. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dentistry at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.

Ahmad Alkanderi

Dr. Alkanderi was born and raised in Kuwait. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree in 2012, and a doctorate of dental surgery degree in 2016. Following completion of his dental degree, he moved back to Kuwait, where he completed an internship in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2017.
Dr. Alkanderi is currently a third year prosthodontics resident at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. After the completion of his current post-graduate training, he will be joining Loma Linda University for a one year fellowship in implant dentistry. 

Carlo E. Poggio

Carlo E. Poggio, DDS, MSD, PhD is owner of Studio Associato Poggio, an interdisciplinary dental practice with more than 50 years of history located in the heart of Milan historical center.

He is also a Visiting Professor for Interdisciplinary Treatments at the Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics in the University of Milan and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Prosthodontics Eastman Institute for Oral Health, University of Rochester (NY).

He is a member of the Cochrane Oral Health group (Manchester, UK), as well as fellow of several national and international dental associations. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (AIOP), one of the largest Italian dental societies and a member of the International Relationship Commitee of the American Prosthodontic Society.

He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and lectured extensively in Italy and abroad on topics related to interdisciplinary treatment planning in dentistry, occlusion and management of TMD patients, metal free prosthodontic materials and use of dental implants in complex interdisciplinary rehabilitations.

Dr. Marc Hayashi

Dr. Marc Hayashi is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2009. He completed two years of General Practice Residency in Los Angeles following dental school, attending both the LAC+USC Medical Center and the Sepulveda VA Ambulatory Care Center. He has been teaching at the UCLA School of Dentistry full time since 2016, teaching in the Section of Restorative Dentistry, where he currently serves as the Course Chair for Clinical Restorative Dentistry, and also serves as the Vice Chair of the Section of Restorative Dentistry. During this time, he also went back to school to earn his MBA from Pepperdine University. Dr. Hayashi maintains patient care at the faculty practice one day a week, and is involved in various research projects at the dental school. 

Dr. Akanksha Srivastava

Dr. Srivastava graduated from her Dental School in India in 2010 with a Dean’s gold medal of honor. She then went on to pursue a Masters of Science degree at McGill University, Montreal, Canada where she focused her research program on health economics for implant treatment. She completed her post-graduate Prosthodontics, Implant surgery and Masters in Dental Science training from University of Connecticut. She further pursued a fellowship in Oral Oncology and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics from MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is a dual boarded Prosthodontist, by the American Board of Prosthodontics and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Srivastava is currently a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. She is finishing her PhD research focused on oral cancer morbidities, in collaboration between McGill University and MD Anderson Cancer Center, while practicing as a part-time consultant Prosthodontist and Implantologist in Houston, TX.

Dr. Don Curtis

Dr. Don Curtis is a professor in the Division of Prosthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco. His research interests include evaluating bone strain around dental implants during wound healing and how bone implant contact is influenced by strain. Dr. Curtis has over 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including Head and Neck, Bone, Medical Education, and numerous other basic science, medical, and prosthodontic journals. Recent publications have focused on maintenance issues related to dental implants.

Dr. Curtis is also involved in professional development and how students accept feedback. He is involved nationally in organized dentistry as an authority on clinical decision-making in the use of dental implants and speaks on clinical topics nationally and internationally. He is past president of the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics and the American Board of Prosthodontics. He is a fellow in the American College of Prosthodontics, a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (the National Dental Honor Society), the American Dental Association, and the California Dental Association, among other professional organizations.

Dr. Pooya Soltanzadeh

Dr. Pooya Soltanzadeh received his DDS from Tehran University, in Iran where he practiced general dentistry for three years. He spent two years as a post-doc and research fellow in prosthodontics post-doctoral program at UCLA, School of Dentistry.
Dr. Pooya was trained in advanced specialty education in prosthodontics at Loma Linda University from which he earned a certificate and honors for excellent performance in prosthodontics.
He received his Master of Science (MS) in prosthodontics focusing on the accuracy of conventional and 3D printed dental prostheses.
He has published several original articles and book chapters in the field of implant dentistry, fixed and removable prostheses.
Dr. Pooya is a diplomate of American Board of Prosthodontics and fellow of American College of Prosthodontics.
He is currently working as a full-time assistant professor at Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry.

Dr. William Giannobile

Dr. William Giannobile is currently Dean of Harvard School of Dentistry.He was the Najjar Endowed Professor & Chair of the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He is also a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering. He received his DDS and MS in Oral Biology from the University of Missouri. He later received his Certificate in Periodontology and Doctor of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology from Harvard University. He completed postdoctoral training in Molecular Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Giannobile previously served as a faculty member at Harvard and the Forsyth Institute. He has served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Genoa Medical School Biotechnology Institute and in the Department of Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London. Dr. Giannobile’s continuously NIH funded research program over the past 20 years has focused on Oral and Periodontal Regenerative Medicine, Tissue Engineering and Personalized Medicine. Dr. Giannobile currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Dental Research, the official journal of the International Association for Dental Research. He is a past-president of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. Dr. Giannobile is a consultant to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for Dental Devices. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and a Fellow of the American and International Colleges of Dentists. He currently serves as the Co-Principal Investigator of the NIH-funded Michigan-Pittsburgh-Wyss Regenerative Medicine Resource Center that focuses on the translation of regenerative technologies to the clinical arena.

Dr Adrien Naveau

Adrien received DDS and PhD degrees from the University of Paris Descartes. He is a full-time Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, U. Bordeaux, teaching prosthodontics, and more specifically Maxillofacial Prosthetics as chairman to graduate and undergraduate students. He is the Head of the Periodontics and Prosthodontics Unit at Saint André Hospital, Bordeaux.
His research lab is INSERM U1026 Biotis and has published more than 35 publications in international journals. His basic research focuses on maxillofacial regeneration through bioprinting (soft tissues) and reparation through prostheses (soft palate defects, virtual reality, CAD-CAM…).

Meriting Thokoane

Dr Meriting Thokoane obtained her Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS) from the
University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg South Africa in 1997. In 2013 she
completed a 4-year long Masters in Prosthodontics (MDent) with special interest in
Maxillofacial Rehabilitation.
She is currently involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate training as well as
head and neck cancer patient rehabilitation, and heading the Maxillofacial
Prosthodontics clinic programme at her University. Meriting is also busy with an MSc
in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics with King’s College London.
She has presented internationally and locally and is a member of several
professional bodies such as the International College of Prosthodontists (ICP),
International Society for Maxillofacial Rehabilitation (ISMR), Public Health
Association of South Africa (PHASA), and the Academy of Prosthodontics South
Africa (APSA) where she is a EXCo member.

Dr. Christian Coachman

Dr. Christian Coachman graduated in Dental Technology in 1995 and in Dentistry at the University of São Paulo/Brazil in 2002.

Jeff CW. Wang

Jeff CW. Wang, DDS, DMSc, is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Predoctoral Periodontics at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Jeff Wang earned his certificate in Periodontology and a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree in Oral Biology from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Wang is a board-certified periodontist with an active faculty practice limited to periodontics and implant surgeries. He is the principle investigator for several clinical studies on peri-implantitis, including a clinical trial on laser-assisted regenerative surgical therapy and translational research on host response and future therapeutics. He is also an advocate of a team approach for holistic management of peri-implant diseases.

Dr Kamolphob Phasuk

Dr. Phasuk received his DDS degree from the Faculty of Dentistry Chulalongkorn University in 2006. After graduation, he worked as a general dentist for 3 years and then continued his education in advance Prosthodontics at the State University of New York at Buffalo(SUNY at Buffalo). He also received a master degree in Oral Science from the SUNY at Buffalo for his research on dental ceramic. He was a Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Oncologic Dentistry fellow at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. In 2015, he became a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontist. Currently, Dr. Phasuk is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Prosthodontics Department, and Director of DDS Implant Clinic, Indiana University School of Dentistry. He is an active member of many organizations, Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics and Associate fellow of American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthodontics.

Dr. Junying Li

Dr. Junying Li is currently a clinical lecturer and Research Fellow in the Department of Periodontics and OralMedicine, School of Dentistry, University of Michigan. He completed his prosthodontics residency training in 2015 at West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University in China. He received his Ph.D. degree in Dental Medicine in2019 from West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University. He is the recipient of the 2017-2018 Dentsply Sirona Implant Fellowship in School of dentistry, University of Michigan. He has been focused on digital technologies in dental implant treatment and prosthetic rehabilitation. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles.

Dr. Sara Gordon

Dr. Sara Gordon is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Oral Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Dentistry.

A 1986 graduate of Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry, she established and ran a successful general dental practice in Nova Scotia for 8 years. During these years she also taught oral diagnosis and oral pathology at Dalhousie University part time, practiced in the university Mouth Clinic, and consulted for the children’s hospital and an Alzheimer facility.  Dr. Gordon was an oral pathology resident at University Hospital, London, Ontario 1993-1997 and completed a Master of Science in Pathology in 1996, with a thesis entitled Foreign Body Gingivitis. Dr. Gordon taught general, systemic, and oral pathology at the University of Detroit Mercy 1997-2006 and practiced in the oral medicine, radiology, oral diagnosis, and screening clinics. She established and directed the UDM Tobacco Dependence Treatment Program. She also practiced at the Oral Pathology Diagnostic Service at St John Hospital in Detroit.  In Chicago from 2006-2014, Dr. Gordon taught general, systemic, and oral pathology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and practiced in the oral medicine clinic. She established and directed the UIC Oral Pathology Diagnostic Service. She moved to the University of Washington in 2014 to help establish the new curriculum.

Dr. Gordon is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in both Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine, and a Fellow in Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland. She is a Fellow, Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM), Drexel University

Dr Nathalia de Andrade

Dr. Andrade earned three dental degrees from the University of Sao Paulo: a DDS in 2012, a master’s degree in Oral Sciences in 2015, and a PhD in Oral Sciences in 2017. As part of doctoral studies she worked as a research fellow in the Angiogenesis Laboratory at the Dental School of University of Michigan and won first place of the Hatton Award – IADR – Brazilian Division. Her main areas of research are stem cells and molecular biology of oral cancer. Currently, she is a graduate student in periodontology and has received the initial Donald Kerr Endowed Scholarship in Periodontics and Oral Medicine from University of Michigan.

Dr. Eva Boldridge

Dr. Eva Boldridge received her dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Dr. Boldridge had her Prosthodontics training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed her fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Boldridge has worked in private practice for over 15 years in the greater Houston area, and has served as Assistant Clinical Faculty at the UTHeath School of Dentistry, in the GPR/AEGD program. Dr. Boldridge’s field of interest include: digital dentistry, 3D printing, full mouth implant restorative, and digital dentures. Dr. Boldridge is currently serving a term on the American College of Prosthodontics Board of Directors as Region 4 Membership Director.

Dr. Brian J. Goodacre

Dr. Brian J. Goodacre received his DDS degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2013. He completed a four-and-a-half-year combined program in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2017, earning an MSD degree. He is currently an Assistant Professor, School of Dentistry Loma Linda University California

Dr. Sara Hinds Anderson

Sara Hinds Anderson, is a Chief Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident at University of Michigan. Sara is originally from Miami, Florida. She left home to study Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. While completing her masters degree in BME she conducted novel research on Cardiac and Skeletal Muscle Tissue engineering including application for stem cell therapy. Her interest in biomaterials and tissue engineering lead her to the study of Dentistry and she received her DDS at New York University in Manhattan. To further advance her interest in complex facial and dental reconstruction she continued her training as an oral surgeon. During residency she organized and lead the first ever Women in OMFS Leadership Symposium. She hopes to be an academic surgeon with a practice scope including dentoalveolar, trauma, cosmetic surgery, and pathology.

Dr Gadia Peabody

Dr. Peabody received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry (’01). Immediately following dental school, he studied at the Loma Linda University, Center for Implant Dentistry (’02), completing a preceptorship in implant dentistry. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/ Implant Dentistry. 
Dr. Peabody worked in private practice for several years before returning to school. He completed his residency and earned a certificate in prosthodontics from the University of Southern California (’14). 
Dr. Peabody taught part-time at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry. He has practiced prosthodontics in San Francisco, Muskegon, MI, and currently in San Diego. 

Dr. Peter Yaman

Peter Yaman, DDS, MS, is a clinical professor of Dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He maintained a part-time private practice and teaching appointment for 23 years prior to joining the University of Michigan dental faculty fulltime in 1999. Currently he is on the editorial board of the
Operative Dentistry Journal, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and is a reviewer for the Journal of the American Dental Association as well as many other
dental journals. He has authored numerous articles and scientific abstracts and has lectured in the United States as well as internationally on restorative
procedures with emphasis on compromised teeth and esthetics.

Dr. Yaman is involved in laboratory and clinical investigations of restorative materials and esthetic techniques.

Clinical trials are ongoing to assess the reliability of caries diagnosis techniques using laser fluorescence and digital radiographs.

Dr Karen Bennie

Dr Karen Bennie received her BChD degree and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of Pretoria. She went on to complete Master’s degrees in Endodontics and Prosthodontics at the University of the Witwatersrand. She is currently working as a specialist consultant at the University of Pretoria. 

Dr Bennie has published articles and presented her research both locally and internationally. She is the winner of the 2013 Unilever Hatton award for the South African division of the IADR, and two poster awards at the International College of Prosthodontists Biennial meetings in 2013 and 2015. 

Her clinical interests are broad including both conventional and maxillofacial prosthodontics. Her current research interests include gerodontology, implant maintenance and leadership diversity in dentistry. 

Dr. Michael Rodillo

Dr. Rodillo graduated from dental school in 2016 from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, where he obtained a doctor of Dental Medicine degree and a Bachelor of Science in Dentistry degree.

Currently, Dr. Rodillo is in the Master’s degree graduate program at the University of Michigan as a 2nd year Endodontic resident.

Dr. Mazen Sultan

Dr Sultan had predoctoral dental education at the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Completed multiple Oral surgery externships while in dental school.From there, he completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Louisville where he was educated in advanced and complex dental treatment. After his GPR, he went on to do a one year Implant Fellowship At SIU, where he completed a Comprehensive dental implant training Program Focusing on both surgical and prosthodontics components to Dental implant therapy.- Dr.Sultan practices in private practice in St.Louis Missouri .He is a member of the American Academy of implant Dentistry, American Dental Association , Greater St.louis Dental Society , and a member of the Seattle study club .

Dr. Jamal Flowers

Dr. Jamal Flowers, an endodontist, who recently practiced in New York, is currently practicing in downtown Chicago. Born in Michigan, Dr. Flowers was raised in Indiana, where his interest in dentistry began as a middle school student. His educational experiences have traversed a wide variety of geographical regions. Completing his undergraduate studies at Morehouse College, earning a bachelor of arts in psychology; Dr. Flowers continued his educational studies at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. While attending dental school, he became involved in student leadership roles along with dental research and various community services endeavors. After dental school, he completed a one-year general practice residency at Harlem Hospital in New York City to expand his knowledge in the dental field. While attending his residency, Dr. Flowers successfully completed training in Emergency Medicine, Oral Surgery, Plastic surgery, Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine as well as General Hospital Based Dentistry. After completing his residency, Dr. Flowers continued his studies at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, obtaining a certificate in endodontics. Dr. Flowers is truly excited to continue his career in Chicago, and looks forward to providing quality patient care.

Dr. Sreenivas Koka

Sreenivas Koka earned DDS and MS (prosthodontics) degrees from the University of Michigan, a PhD (cell/molecular biology) degree from the University of Nebraska, and an MBA degree from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. He has held numerous academic appointments, including being former Professor and Chair of Dental Specialties at Mayo Clinic. Sree founded a private dental practice, Koka Dental Corporation, in San Diego in 2014 and concurrently holds faculty appointments at Loma Linda University and UCLA. He is President of the International College of Prosthodontists, past-President of the Academy of Prosthodontics and founder of the Future Leaders workshop series that teaches leadership and management skills to early and mid-career professionals. Sree is the current President of the MIT Sloan Club of San Diego and Chair-elect of the MIT Sloan School of Management Alumni Board. He is a grateful recipient of a 2019 Margaret L. McVicar award from the MIT Alumni Association.

Dr Alejandro Coelho

He started studying Dentistry in Venezuela, however two years later, he left the country seeking better opportunities as the country’s political situation kept worsening. 

He finished his dental degree at The International University of Catalonia, a place that has given him so much knowledge and experience. His motivation has been to become better with his waxing technique, for this reason, he frequently spend his leisure time improving it. 

One of his short term goals is to become a speaker in the Spanish Society of Prosthodontics Stomatological and Aesthetic (SEPES), of which he became a Junior member this year. He will start the Clinic Residence of Prosthodontics at the UIC to expand his knowledge in the digital treatment field.

Dr. Alfonso Piñeyro

Dr. Piñeyro received his dental degree from the Universidad Autonoma de
Guadalajara. He then completed a two year advanced education in general
dentistry before completing his specialist training in prosthodontics at the
University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center.


Dr. Piñeyro is currently an affiliate instructor at the Department of
Restorative Dentistry at the University of Washington. He is the past
president of the esteemed Washington State Society of Prosthodontists
and is also a member of the American College of Prosthodontists and the
American Prosthodontics Society.
Dr. Piñeyro has authored several publications in peer reviewed dental
journals and chapters in textbooks. He is currently involved in research
focusing on dental implants and has developed a set of unique instruments
used for implant hygiene and maintenance. Dr. Piñeyro practices in a
practice limited to fixed implant prosthodontics.


He has lectured both nationally and internationally and has presented over
300 lectures for multiple dental study clubs and dental associations. He
has been invited to speak to large national dental symposiums which
include: Seattle Study Club Symposium, American Academy of
Periodontology, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American
Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, Academy of Osseointegration,
American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of LDS Dentists and The
12 th International Symposium on Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry.

Dr. Carl Driscoll

Dr. Carl F. Driscoll currently serves as a Professor at the University of Maryland Dental School and was the Director of the Prosthodontic Residency for 21 years. He also served in the same capacity at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for three years prior to being at Maryland. Dr. Driscoll retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years of service. Dr. Driscoll is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) and the Academy of Prosthodontics. Dr. Driscoll has served as President of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, President of the American Board of Prosthodontics, and as President of the ACP. He has been honored with many awards and was recently named the ACP’s Educator of the Year. Dr. Driscoll has given over 500 presentations nationally and internationally to study clubs, dental schools, residencies and at major prosthodontic meetings. His lectures are praised by attendees for the quality of the information and for the humor that he injects. He has authored over 75 publications and under his guidance and his residents have won many research awards. In addition to his teaching commitments, he is in private practice in Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Alireza Moshaverinia

Dr. Alireza Moshaverinia is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and an Associate Professor at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Alireza has received his DDS degree in 2004 from Iran. He has a Master of Science degree in Dental Biomaterials (2009) from the Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. He completed advanced clinical education in Prosthodontics and earned his PhD in Craniofacial Biology from Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC (2012). He has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals on dental materials, implant dentistry, and stem cell mediated tissue engineering. He serves as the editorial review board member for several scientific journals such as Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. Dr. Moshaverinia directs NIH funded research projects dedicated to studying basic mechanisms to regulate stem cell-mediated bone and tissue regeneration and the role of biomaterials. 

Dr. Sable Muntean

Dr. Sable Muntean is a native of California, but currently practices in University City, Missouri. She graduated from LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Florida, simultaneously earning her degrees as a Doctor of Dental Medicine and Master in Health Services Administration. She then attended Southern Illinois University where she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency, followed by an Implant Fellowship. Dr. Muntean was also inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy in February of this year, and has published research on implants in Compendium, and will be presenting new research at the next Academy of Osseointegration meeting and ITI World Symposium in Singapore. Dr. Muntean also spends time helping pre-dental students on their journey to dental school through an organization she co-founded called ignitePreDent.

Dr. Fernanda Yanez-Regonesi


Fernanda Yanez-Regonesi received her DDS degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile, in 2015. After graduating, she worked in private practice for two years. Fernanda Yanez-Regonesi always had an interest in facial pain and headaches. Due to that interest, she decided to join the Orofacial Pain Program at the University of Kentucky in 2017, where she is currently the chief resident and works as a teaching assistant. Fernanda’s current research interest is in sleep bruxism.

Dr. Elfatih Eisa


Elfatih Eisa attained his dental degree from Riyadh Elm University (REU), Saudi Arabia. He worked as a demonstrator and a teaching assistant in the Prosthodontics Department at REU for three years. Orofacial Pain, Prosthodontics, and Dental Sleep Medicine are his areas of interest. He completed a 1-year Prosthodontics preceptorship in 2017 at the University of Michigan. Currently, Elfatih Eisa is an Orofacial Pain resident and teaching assistant at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

Dr Gordon Brandon

Dr. Brandon A. Gordon attended Morehouse College, a historically Black liberal arts college for men, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and leadership development. Dr. Gordon graduated from Morehouse College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In the summer of 2002, Dr. Gordon participated in a post-baccalaureate program at the UCLA School of Medicine, where he also volunteered in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic. The culmination of Dr. Gordon’s educational experiences inspired his return to Michigan to attend the University of Michigan’s School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor. He graduated in 2007 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He is graduate of the Advanced Prosthodontics Program at the University of Michigan. He was is Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Wee has served in dental academics for the past 20 years, holding full-time academic
positions for 16 years. His professional career started at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1998, where he was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2004. His academic career continued at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery) and then at Creighton University (Department of Prosthodontics). Dr. Wee was the recipient of several student teaching awards and was the first national recipient of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontic’s Claude R. Baker Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching Predoctoral Fixed Prosthodontics. In 2014, he accepted a position at the Veterans Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System in Omaha, Nebraska. He was Assistant Dental Service Chief, Dental Laboratory supervisor and treated patients with complex oral rehabilitation needs, including those with head/neck cancer, facial trauma, and obstructive sleep apnea. Currently, he is Full Professor with tenure and Director for the Division of Prosthodontics, Department of Restorative Sciences, University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He sees patients one day per week faculty practice at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.

Dr. Daniel Cortes

Daniel Cortes is an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Columbus, Ohio. His work has centered around Removable Partial Prosthodontics. Daniel Cortes earned his DDS degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Monterrey, Mexico followed by an M.S in prosthodontics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Dr. Najla Kasabreh

Dr. Kasabreh graduated of the Ohio State University School of Dentistry, earning her MS in Periodontics in 2019. She is originally from Jordan where she received her DDS at the University of Jordan in Amman. Dr. Kasabreh has had clinical experience in private practice as well as strong research experience at OSU. During the program, Dr. Kasabreh was selected as a Chief resident. She received an award for the Midwest Society of Periodontology/ Poster Competition for Graduate Student Research Forum Award in 2019. She was a finalist for the IADR’s prestigious Edward Hatton Competition in Vancouver in 2019 and for the Balint Orban Competition at the AAP Meeting in Chicago in 2019. She is currently a clinical lecturer at the university of Michigan.

Dr. Yuan-Lynn Hsieh

Dr. Yuan-Lynn Hsieh received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2011 from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. Afterward, he obtained a certificate in Periodontics and Implantology from the National Taiwan University Hospital in 2016. Dr. Hsieh deepened and furthered his knowledge in the regime of prosthodontics at the University of Michigan’s Graduate Prosthodontics Program, receiving a Master of Science degree in 2019. In the same year, Dr. Hsieh joined the Ohio State University College of Dentistry as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Restorative and Prosthetics Dentistry.

Dr Alberto Ambard

Alberto Ambard graduated at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1996. After practicing in Caracas for 2 years, he moved to the U.S, where he completed a residency program in prosthodontics, and a master’s degree in dental biomaterials at the University of Alabama at Birmingham; as well as a fellowship in maxillofacial prosthodontics at the University of Chicago.
He was assistant professor in clinical prosthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and at Oregon Health Science University. He was the Director of the Implant Program for Kaiser Permanente, the Director of the Prosthetic maxillofacial Service at Providence Medical Center, and the Director of the Occlusion Course for the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry.
He has published on occlusion, implants and bulimia. One of his papers was selected for a compilation highlighting the best clinical papers published in the Journal of Prosthodontics.
He is an American College of Prosthodontics Award recipient for his research on different designs for implant supported over dentures.
Dr. Ambard maintains a private practice in beaverton, Oregon since 2003. He is a Jose Felix Ribas Medal recipient for his achievements in collegiate and international karate. He has published two novels, plays mediocre tennis and guitar, and loves music. He lives with his wife and children in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Shouvik Ponnusamy

Dr. Shouvik Ponnusamy is a practicing oral & maxillofacial surgeon in Chicago, Illinois. He was trained extensively in dental implant rehabilitation, complex facial reconstruction, composite tissue grafting, and outpatient anesthesia at the University of Illinois at Chicago Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency program. While serving as Chief Resident, Dr. Ponnusamy was selected for the prestigious OsteoScience Foundation Observership Scholarship, where he was able to learn dynamic navigation surgery from Dr. Michael Block. Dr. Ponnusamy has authored novel surgical technique papers, and strongly believes in applying contemporary surgical approaches to classic prosthodontic principles. Currently, Dr. Ponnusamy and his wife enjoy living in the city of Chicago, and have just been blessed with a baby boy.

Dr. Furat George

Dr. Furat George received his dental degree from the University of Baghdad in 1998 and his prosthodontics specialty training from the University of Michigan in 2007. His practice is limited to prosthodontics and dental implants and is currently the director of the graduate prosthodontics clinic and co-director of the pre-doctoral dental implant education at the University of Michigan – School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Osseointegration, International and American Associations for Dental Research and a fellow of the International Congress for Oral Implantologists. His research interests are in the field of dental implants, dental ceramics and the utilization of CAD/CAM technology in dentistry and research and has multiple published articles and abstracts in scientific journals and meetings. He also serves as a reviewer on multiple scientific journals.

Dr Arpit Nirkhiwale

Dr. Nirkhiwale is the Clinical Assistant Professor Faculty at the Division of Prosthodontics. Specializing in Full Mouth Rehabilitation, Implant Prosthodontics, Digital Dentistry and Dental Photography­, he completed his Prosthodontics residency at the University of Florida, College of Dentistry, Gainesville Fl. He also advanced his training with a one year internship/fellowship program at the Department of Graduate Prosthodontics, University of Florida School of Advanced Dental Sciences. He was also awarded the Fellowship of the International Congress for Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Nirkhiwale maintains a patient-centered, multidisciplinary, team and evidence-based approach to patient care. He has been a part of the teaching team for various courses on implant prosthodontics and digital dentistry. He is also a speaker for Dentsply Sirona and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). He is dedicated to training and developing upcoming dentists and dental professionals with the latest evidence-based education and clinical training.

Dr Kehinde Babalola

Dr Kehinde Babalola earned her dental degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, College of Dentistry, Nigeria in 2013. Upon graduation, she worked as a general dentist for 2 years and was involved in various medical and dental outreaches in elementary schools, high schools and community health centers.

She graduated from a combined program of oral and maxillofacial radiology (residency) and a masters in dental science from University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine. She has received awards from the Connecticut State dental association and have multiple abstracts and poster presentations at the annual meetings of the American academy of oral and maxillofacial radiology, International association of dental research and the Connecticut state dental association.

Her passion includes teaching and contributing to the advancement of oral and maxillofacial radiology through consults. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, playing squash and spending time with family.

Dr Tiago Veras

Dr. Tiago Caramelo

Dr. Tiago Caramelo received his DDS degree in 2013 from the University of Lisbon – Faculty of Dental Medicine. One year later he started working as a Dentist at Prosthodontics Department in MALO CLINIC, Lisbon. From 2014 to 2016, he was clinical assistant of the Oral Surgery Department – University of Lisbon – Faculty of Dental Medicine. In 2016, he became the coordinator of MALO CLINIC VERONA and MALO CLINIC UK. Since the start of his career, he has been attending several post graduations worldwide with the most recognized dentists such as Pascal Magne, David Gerdolle, Maxim Belograd etc. His clinical practice is focused in fixed prosthodontics and full arch rehabilitation.

Dr Armand Bedrossian

Dr. Bedrossian is a Prosthodontist and currently practices in his hometown of San Francisco. He received his DDS from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2015 and completed the advanced prosthodontic residency program and received his master’s degree at the University of Washington. He has authored publications on removable prosthodontics and treatment planning the fully edentulous patient. He has nationally lectured on implant and prosthetic dentistry. He co-founded D365; a social media application providing a networking platform for dental students, residents and dental practioners to share their knowledge, connect with colleagues and learn daily from the palm of their hands. He is also very active on social media, documenting and sharing his daily work and personal growth throughout his residency and now professional dental career.

Dr. George Borja de Freitas

Dr. George Borja de Freitas is a Post-Doctor in Surgery and Diagnosis (SLM, Campinas, SP, Brazil), PhD in Implantology (SLM, Campinas, SP, Brazil). Dr. Berna Saglik

Dr. Berna Saglik received her DDS degree from Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey, and MS in prosthodontics from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2007. Upon graduation she started working as a full time faculty member. She is currently teaching in the graduate prosthodontics clinic as well as directing Removable Partial Denture course for sophomore dental students. Dr. Adriana Semprum-Clavier

Adriana Semprum-Clavier, D.D.S. is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Restorative Dentistry, College of Dentistry. Her area of expertise is early management and treatment of dental caries as well as teaching different technique courses in Operative and Restorative and Digital Dentistry. Her research at the College of Dentistry has focused on remineralization/demineralization of hard tissues on a high risk population for dental caries.

She serves as the Pre-patient Care Director for the Advanced Standing DMD Program.  Dr. Semprum current responsibilities include curriculum development, designing, implementing and evaluating students’ outcomes amongst others.

She received her D.D.S degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1996 and her US DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2004.

Dr. Eva Anadioti

Dr. Eva Anadioti is Assistant Professor of Clinical Restorative Dentistry at the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine and the Founding Director of the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. She received her D.D.S. from the University of Athens School of Dentistry in Greece and her Certificate in Prosthodontics and Master’s degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry; she then completed a surgical implant fellowship at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. She worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Dental Medicine before she moved to Penn Dental Medicine where she earned her DMD degree and joined as full-time faculty member. Dr. Anadioti is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and committee Chair in national professional organizations. She has several publications and has received awards both locally and nationally.

Dr Michael Razzoog

Dr. Razzoog holds a dental degree, Master of Science in prosthodontics, and Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Additionally, Dr. Razzoog serves as a consultant to the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA) . He also serves as a Reviewer for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Journal of Prosthodontics, and International Journal of Prosthodontics. In addition to over 100 scientific articles, Dr. Razzoog has authored several books and chapters in academic textbooks. His research activities relate to the clinical aspects of CAD/CAM prosthodontic reconstruction to achieve optimum esthetics of implants and natural teeth.

Dr. Sammy Noumbissi

Dr. Noumbissi obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Howard University in Washington DC. He was then selected to attend the prestigious Loma Linda University Graduate Program in Implant Dentistry. There he received three years of formal training in dental implantology which culminated with a certificate in Implant Dentistry and a Master of Science degree in Implant Surgery. He is a researcher, author and has published book chapters and articles on ceramic implants in peer reviewed dental journals. He is a visiting professor at the University of Milan, Italy and visiting researcher in the materials department at INSA Lyon in France. Dr. Noumbissi is the founder and current president of the International Academy of Ceramic Implantology which is an independent association focused on metal free and ceramic implantology. He is a fellow and Ambassador at the Clean Implant Foundation whose mission is to assess production quality and purity of commercially available dental implant surfaces. Dr. Noumbissi has been practicing and educating dentists on metal free implantology since 2009. His practice is located in Silver Spring, Maryland USA.

Marianella Sierraalta

Marianella Sierraalta DDS, MS
Marianella Sierraalta received her Master of Science in Prosthodontics from the University of Michigan and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. She is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at The University of Michigan and has received Qualified Dentist status from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Sierraalta is recognized as an expert in the areas of dental implants and esthetic dentistry and has written numerous papers and has lectured internationally on these topics. Dr. Sierraalta’s major research interest and publications focuses on the use of all-ceramic restorations and guided surgery with dental implants.

Dr Gabrielle Jackson

Dr. Gabrielle Jackson is originally form Chicago IL, and obtained her bachelors in Biology from Bradley University. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2012 followed by her Masters in Oral Biology and Prosthodontics from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill where she served as Chief Resident. She also served as a team member and ADA Zwemer award recipient of the UNC Malawi Project where she was able to fund a mission trip to Malawi to provide free dental care to more than 500 people. Dr. Jackson was an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, is a published researcher and lecturer on the subject of implant prosthodontics and digital technology.
Dr. Jackson is a member of the, American College of Prosthodontists, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Academy of Osseointegration. She currently practices in Dallas TX

Dr. Saad AlResayes

Dr. Saad AlResayes obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from King Saud University in 2012. He attended University of Illinois at Chicago where he completed his prosthodontics training and Masters of Science in 2018. Then, he completed 1 year implant fellowship training in Loma Linda University. He is a board certified Prosthodontist and fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. Currently, he is assistant professor at King Saud University college of dentistry in Saudi Arabia

Foteini Touloumi

Foteini Touloumi DDS, MS, FACP Bio
Dr. Touloumi graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2008. She received her Specialty Certificate in Prosthodontics and her master’s in dental science from the University of Connecticut in 2014. She became Board certified through the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2015. She is a Fellow of the American Board of Prosthodontists and a member of the American Dental Education Association and the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics.
Dr.Touloumi is currently a Clinical Assistant professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Khaled Husam Sinjab

Khaled Husam Sinjab DDS, M.S is a graduate from the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan. He received his dental degree back in 2010 and his passion for periodontics pushed him to join the 1-year post-doctoral program in 2015. He later joined the residency program in 2017 and has dedicated his residency in treating patients as well as dental-related research. He is the proud recipient of the 2018 Delta Dental award, the Rackham Block Grant award, the 2018 IDREF Grant, and the Rackham Graduate Student Research Grant. His research focuses mainly on dental implants and peri-implantitis and he has published many papers on the matter.

Dr Diogo Gouveia

Diogo Gouveia completed his Dental School in Brazil, 2011. Afterward he worked in the private and public sector for over 2 years before engaging in a Specialization degree in Prosthodontics in the Brazilian Dental Association in his hometown. In 2016 he started a Master’s Degree and Residency in the Graduate Prosthodontics department at the University of Michigan, USA. His master’s degree was completed in 2019, in which he had a chance to interact with world-class professors, providing different perspectives in Dentistry, specially Prosthodontics. Also, he had the chance to work with different new technologies, developing a passion for Digital dentistry in the process. Right after the residency, he was hired to work at The Ohio State University as an Assistant Professor focused on the education of the new generation of dentists.

Dr. Soni Prasad

Dr. Soni Prasad is the Assistant Program Director in the Postgraduate Program in Prosthodontics at Marquette University School of Dentistry. She received a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from India and a certificate in Prosthodontics and a master’s in Oral Sciences from the University of New York at Buffalo. In addition, she has completed a two-year implant fellowship program from Buffalo. Dr. Prasad is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of American College of Prosthodontists and is an active member of several national Prosthodontic organizations. She joined the faculty at the Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2010. Other than teaching, she maintains a busy prosthodontic practice at the Marquette University Faculty Practice clinic.

Dr. Anne Press

Anne Press is currently a prosthodontics resident at University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor. She attended dental school at the University of Detroit Mercy. After dental school, she continued her training at an AEGD program at the Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was awarded a scholarship from Panthera dental for a prosthodontic resident demonstrating keen interest in dental sleep medicine to attend the annual session of the American College of Prosthodontics in Miami in 2019. Her expected graduation from her master’s degree program in June 2021.

Dr. Judy Chia-Chun Yuan is a tenured associate Professor and the Director of Predoctoral Implant Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. Dr. Yuan received her BA from the University of California at Berkeley. She received her DDS, Certificate in Prosthodontics, and MS in Oral Sciences from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She subsequently participated as an International Team for Implantology Scholar in Bern, Switzerland. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics (2015) and a Fellow of American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Yuan has received teaching awards at the professional organization (Claude R. Baker Award for Excellent in Teaching Predoctoral Fixed Prosthodontics, American Academy of fixed Prosthodontics) and University levels (Teaching Recognition Award, and Departmental Teaching Excellence Award, UIC-Council for Excellence in Teaching and Learning). Dr. Yuan has co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed papers. She has served as Editorial Review Board for Journal of Dental Education and Journal of Prosthodontics. Her research interests include dental educational research, implant dentistry, and related areas.

Dr. Cortino Sukotjo

Dr. Cortino Sukotjo is a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), College of Dentistry (COD). Dr. Sukotjo received his DDS Degree from the Padjadjaran University, Indonesia, followed by Ph.D in Oral Biology from University of California at Los Angeles and Certificate in Prosthodontics-Master in Medical Sciences from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board Certified Prosthodontics, Fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics, ADEA/William J. Gies Foundation Education Fellow, previous member of the ADEA Policy Center of Educational Research and Analysis Committee, and Past President of the IADR/AADR Prosthodontic Research Group. Dr. Sukotjo has co-authored 145 peer-reviewed articles and 6 book chapters. He has mentored 80 predoctoral, resident, Masters, and Ph.D students as well as junior faculty members. His research interests include dental education, corrosion, and the use of nanotechnology in dentistry.

Maria Alfaro

Maria Alfaro earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from University of Costa Rica (UCR) in 2010. Upon graduation, she worked as a general practitioner for 3 years. Her affinity to the field of Prosthodontics drove her to enroll in an Advanced Prosthodontics Observership Program at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2013. During her time at UIC, she also worked as a Research Scholar under the guidance of Dr. Cortino Sukotjo where she studied “The Tribocorrosion Behavior of Dental Implants in a Simulated Oral Enviroment”. Her work has been presented in numerous conferences and was awarded with the 1st place in the scientific table competition at the 87th Annual Meeting of the American Prosthodontic Society (APS). In 2015, Dr. Alfaro was offered a full-time position as the Assistant Director of Digital Health Sciences and Technology at UIC Restorative Dentistry Department where she worked for 2 years with various CAD/CAM systems in the foundation of prosthetic design, materials and fabrication. To further her education Dr. Alfaro decided to join the Prosthodontics Graduate Program at University of Michigan in pursuit of the knowledge to manage complex rehabilitation cases that will allow her to best serve her patients.

Dr. Luis Carracho

He graduated from the University of Lisbon – Faculty of Dental Medicine, where he obtained the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2013. He joined the graduate prosthodontics program at the University of Michigan in the summer of 2016 where he obtained the combined certificate/masters degree in 2019. After graduation Dr. Carracho returned to Portugal and re-started his private practice activity in Lisbon with a focus in the area of Prosthodontics. His main scientific interests include implant prosthodontics, guided-surgery, hard/soft tissues regeneration and dental ceramics. He is a member of dental organizations including the ITI – International Team for Implantology and IADR – International Association for Dental Research.

Dr. Gustavo Mendonca

Dr. Gustavo Mendonça received his DDS in 1999 from the University of Uberlândia – School of Dentistry, Brazil. He also completed his postgraduate training in Prosthodontics and Masters Degree in Oral Rehabilitation from the same school in 2003. In 2008 he finished his PhD in Genomic Sciences and Biotechnology at the Catholic University of Brasília, Brazil. Dr. Mendonça was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Catholic University of Brasília – School of Dentistry with an extra-mural private practice from 2003-2007. From 2008 to 2010 he completed a post-doctoral research training at UNC- Department of Prosthodontics in the Bone and Mineralization Laboratory. Dr. Mendonça currently teaches in the Comprehensive Care VIC Clinics and the fixed and removable prosthodontics preclinical courses.

Dr. Daniela Mendonça

Daniela Mendonça, DDS, MSc, PhD, D-ABDSM. Clinical Assistant Professor, Biologic and Materials Sciences & Prosthodontics, University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Mendonça got her DDS in 2001, and in 2006 she received her postgraduate training in Prosthodontics and her master’s degree in Oral Rehabilitation from the University of Uberlândia School of Dentistry, Brazil. In 2010, she got her PhD in Genomic Sciences and Biotechnology from the Catholic University of Brasilia, Brazil. In 2014, she completed her post-doctoral training in the Bone Biology and Implant Therapy laboratory at UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Mendonça is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Mendonça’s current activities include teaching predoctoral students in pre-clinical courses and clinics and also mentoring postdoctoral students in their research projects. Her research interests are related to how we can improve or accelerate bone regeneration using different titanium surfaces.

Dr. Hanin Hammoudeh

Dr. Hammoudeh earned her DDS degree from University of Jordan in 2014, after which she completed one year of internship at University of Jordan hospital and obtained the Jordanian dental license. Soon after the joined the private practice at the Jordanian-French dental center-Amman, Jordan. In 2016 she started a teaching assistant position in the Restorative Department of the Dental Faculty, University of Jordan. Dr. Hammoudeh joined the Prosthodontics program at University of Michigan in 2017

Dr. João Pitta

Dr. João Pitta is a Clinical and Research Fellow at the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials of University of Geneva, Switzerland. He completing his dental education and degree at Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Lisbon, Portugal. From 2015 to 2018 he underwent through a specialization program in Prosthodontics at University of Geneva. Since 2016 he serves as a clinical teaching assistant and supervisor on the undergraduate courses at University of Geneva. In 2019 he received a Master in Advanced Studies and a Doctorate from the same university. He also obtained an ITI scholarship grant and he is currently a scholar at Department of Periodontics and Prosthodontics at Eastman Dental Hospital in Rome, Italy. Dr. Pitta is author of numerous publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals in the field of fixed prosthodontics, implant dentistry and digital technologies.
