Healing Hands Health Society and OPAC Refineries Transform Lives in Umuseti

OPAC Refineries, demonstrating its commitment to corporate social responsibility, has partnered with the Healing Hands Health Society in a transformative initiative within Umuseti-Ogbe. This collaboration has positively impacted not only Umuseti-Ogbe but also neighboring Kwale communities. Over three days, from July 15th to 17th, the Umuseti Community Health Centre became a beacon of hope, offering free eye and dental care services to hundreds of residents.

Transformative Eye Care

In just three days, 663 individuals received eye screenings, leading to the distribution of 500 pairs of reading glasses and essential eye drops. The program also performed 50 surgeries, including cataract and pterygium operations, which restored vision and prevented blindness.

A New Beginning for Igwala Bose

Among the many lives touched was Igwala Bose, a 50-year-old farmer whose deteriorating vision had severely impacted her livelihood. After successful cataract surgery, Igwala experienced a dramatic improvement in her vision, allowing her to return to farming and regain her independence and quality of life.

Restoring Bright Smiles

The outreach program also provided crucial dental services to 43 patients, offering treatments like scaling and polishing, extractions, and fillings. These interventions not only addressed immediate oral health issues but also restored confidence and well-being.
